@kouhai and I are releasing a pride flag emoji set to the public domain!

gitea.treehouse.systems/treeho

The source of all flags are SVGs and can be re-themed in your favorite text or graphics editor.

We would love to see your custom palettes and how community use them!

Please boost so that more instances adopt pride flags 🦊 🙏

"Computer, show me pictures of girls"

*computer transforms into a girl*

"Oh, that's better"

I like the phrase "snitches get stitches" because it suggests that, in spite of its incumbent violence, the criminal underworld is proactive about timely affordable healthcare.

not webrings, not ipfs, but a new, third thing: you republish your friends' websites.

i think we need a new world wide web that doesn't rely on archival services to preserve things. the fact that publishing something online does not create a permanent copy anywhere is troublesome. what if we moved to a syndication model, where mirroring is the norm, and automatic?

apropos of nothing, irregular reminder to replace fonts.google.com or fonts.googleapis.com with fonts.bunny.net anywhere that you use it

it's a drop-in replacement that is privacy-respecting and isn't fucking google

i generally prefer to embed my own fonts and trim them down to just characters i need, but this is markedly better than staying on google and requires basically no effort

every now and then someone makes a post like "fedi culture is getting 8 boosts and 20 likes and going 'ohh this is doing numbers' lol lmao. numbers tiny" and like i get it but also if 20 people came up to me and said "i liked it when you said that, well done" and 8 of those people were like "can i get some copies of this so i can show it to all my friends?" id be stoked

The longer the WGA and Sag AFTRA strikes last, the more movie studios are going to turn to video game news outlets to promote their struck works for them.

That "controller that smells like a food product" news story this week is the kind of story they'll use to get promo.

A friend attending #ICML just sent me a photo of this front runner for best poster award.

The washington post interviewed me and ray lalonde about the jeopardy champ strike?? archive.ph/AAYgY

So, uh, if you see an orb in public, DO NOT PONDER IT, because it's going to steal your biometrics and give them to the worst people in silicon valley:

I've come to the conclusion that clothes are a liquid, they fill out any container you put them in and they readily drip into the floor forming little puddles

I once said something about it being risky to have the art on the fediverse disproportionately controlled by a single instance. Artist's reach and livelihoods end up being at the mercy of a few instance admins.

Being an artist on social media is terrible on all platforms now. Both on the Fediverse and on corporate social media. This is why I just put all my stuff on my website. At least I don't have to deal with all this drama and instability.

Important PSA!
The movie "How to Blow Up a Pipeline" (NOT the book) depicts bomb-making in a way that, if emulated, could seriously harm an activist. The consultant on bomb-making was a high-ranking US counter-terrorism official, according to the directors.
