The retrotech cycle:

1. Thing is cool
2. Thing gets mentioned on youtube
3. The Ebay People
4. Somebody makes replacement parts out of new parts to try and avoid The Ebay People
5. Whoops, the replacement parts were in a single batch of like 30
6. No worries, just replace the whole thing with a raspberry pi
7. Raspberry pis are on backorder until september 2024

"Furries are not a protected group" - they said as a way to shrug off the idea that someone, namely the mastodon.art curator, was targetting furries.

Here is a few facts to know about us furries:

Most of us are queer. This includes gender queer. Most people know zero to one trans people, but furries generally have more trans friends than they can count, it is that common. The fandom is a safehaven for queer people.

Most of us are neurodivergent. Being autistic is very prominient in the furry fandom. The fandom is a place where autistic find a place to unmask and be themselves. It is a place where we can be social without having to inteprete non-autistic intentions continiously.

I am not going to apologize for being protective of this space that litterarely saved my life. I would not have been here without it.

"furries are not a protected group" is a statement that reeks of queerphobica and abelism. The attempts of labeing furries as "white incel techbros" is a distraction from the queerphobia.

Had a hard time braining last night but did work some more on the eyes this morning. Need to make some test mockups before I commit and then work on the rest. :)

Already thinking about making a fursuit head of my wolf supervillain, Epoxy! After I'm done with my Renamon, of course. :)

@PsyChuan The ending of The Price of Shite 2 where Paul hadn't put enough markings on makes me laugh so loudly.

Do you listen to Cheapshow at all?

Reading Corbyn's article in al jazeera and thinking about how every time anything shitty has happened for the last four years, which is basically every week, every time that fucking scum starmer raises his oily fucking head, I think about what we could have had

I've been playing through Metal Gear Solid (for the first time!) Sunday nights on Twitch for the past while! I just uploaded the VOD of part 6 of my playthrough to YouTube in case anyone wants watch me get Snake killed a bunch of times haha

Thinking a LOT these past few days about my favourite of all time: Power Driller (Sai Nejire, literally Rhino Twist/Distortion/Warp, it's a pun!)

Like gosh I love them so much. I wish I could be them RL! ^^; 💚

@dragonarchitect I tried to install some FOSS software (I don't remember which) on my MacBook Air and it needed Xcode to be able to install it. I had so much trouble that I just gave up.

I'm using Windows as my daily driver, but once Win10 is over I'll be switching entirely to Linux for my home system and that'll be that. Still gonna keep my MacBook air though as I use it for DJing and will probably need it or something similar for support of things in the future.

@dragonarchitect MacOS I haven't used enough to form an opinion, but I did not have a fun time using xcode.

@dragonarchitect I think it's a "how brains are wired" or maybe exposure thing? I've always found the Windows errors to be 100% indecipherable (and most Windows experts on the official help sites end up arguing about what a particular fault code can mean) and trying to troubleshoot a fault is a case of seeing what sticks to the wall.

Linux has been the only flavour of OS that I actually wrap my head around and troubleshoot to some degree. Granted I only use Debian and Gentoo so YMMV.

Scored this absolutely beautiful Minolta “MOVIE” VHS Camcorder for $5. Seems to work but need to try and record to a tape with it. Hoping to have it running off USB-C PD and working perfectly by Further Confusion in January.
