Decided to finally watch some old Doctor Who (never watched any earlier than Sylvester McCoy) and starting with John Pertwee (because colour).

@avon_deer We were on the right track and it was all taken away from us because those at the top want Even More Money. Renationalised companies would be demonstrable proof that neoliberalism only favours the rich, so they do anything to stop it.
On a personal level we were close to having recognition in line with other countries re trans rights, but Tufton St said no and here we are now.
I will go to my grave cursing Thatcher and every single neoliberal.
@avon_deer Don’t worry, I’m already at the point; I wanted everything that Corbyn had in his manifesto. The public response to his manifesto still gives me hope, I remember the huge turnouts and support for it, and I won’t forget how it went.
I won’t ever forget how Tufton Street is full of the worst of humanity and how they have the ear of every high ranking politician in this country.
@avon_deer I’m fuming. This could have been nationalised; would have been nationalised, if not for our political system being run by the super rich.

Look this slink (spandex) is just really really good and I love it a lot!
I want to wear it all the time, every day. Thinking about wearing it under my casual clothes (sans the armour, of course) makes me feel really nice and at ease/comfortable.

@avon_deer I wish I knew how except to say that we aimed directly at the bank account of the company by withdrawing our labour at a time where it was likely to cause them to have to pay out credits in missed targets/SLAs/etc.
Not sure how you’d translate that to the NHS. :(
@avon_deer Oh! So we got a lot of support from other parts of the union, despite all the press coverage of our company, so that was really good.
In the end we got 5% across the board (it had been 3% for some and 2% for others), a max 15% uplift for those below 70% which helped a lot more of the lowest paid, and an extra days holiday a year permanently. We got them to double the pay pot to allow for the above.

IDK who needs to hear this but stainless steel is a relative term. It still rusts eventually, especially if it gets wet, triply so if it gets salty and wet. If you're making, say, a truck out of bare stainless steel, you should probably put some paint on there.
We were not painting trucks this whole time for purely aesthetic purposes. Sorry, "skipping the paint" does not qualify as "disrupting the auto industry."
