@Jencen @avon_deer "Why use Linux when you can use a Mac" etc, etc.

The problem really is that they don't have a solution but NEED to give their opinions. These people can just be ignored.

If tech companies enable some feature, _except_ in the EU, then that's an excellent indication that the feature is bad and should not have been built.

@avon_deer @Jencen Horses for courses really; I find it just as bad doing the opposite and trying to get help for Windows stuff. Rather than actually help you with your problem they just fall back to a set of stock responses, none of which are applicable to the problem but fix 90% of issues, and if that doesn't work they just tell you to reinstall Windows. πŸ™ƒ

Basically tech support online is shit whatever angle you come at it.

@mallardgryph I only really use my phone for on-the-go comms and media consumption, that's it. Everything else I do on an actual computer.

to me the smartphone will never be a primary computing device. it is a clumsy little rock in your pocket that you can thumb out messages on, read the news and check the socials.

long live the proper computer, with their proper keyboards, proper clipboards, proper multitasking and proper programmability. the proper computer is where things are made. the pocket rock is for dicking around on at bus stops

Self-affection always seems to be highest when I wake up. Today is no exception. ^..^

I love being a Renamon! πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ¦ŠπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

It's talk like a pirate day! Here I go:

"I just want to access the media I already own in a portable format that I can watch or listen to in high quality on all my devices without DRM or adverts."

Did I do it right?

Stream Alert!
Today!
9pm London (UK) time!

I fixed a bunch of the technical issues I had on the last stream, so hopefully it'll be a better time XD

We're going to be trying fighting game for the first time in over 20 years!

We'll be trying to answer questiones like these:
- Does our ancient knowledge have any use in today's games?
- Do these games really need us to be 20 years younger to be any good at them?
- What the hell is up with all these energy bars!?
- Are we just going to stomped into the ground by our Playstaion?
- and more!!!

The UX sins worthy of capital punishment in my opinion:

1) stealing focus for any reason other than to inform the user of a world ending emergency
2) and by extension, any kind of popup modal the user did not explictly ask for
3) moving the user's scroll position if they are ANYWHERE other than the tip of whatever feed they are perusing.

Essentially - anything that demands the user look at something they didn't explictly chose to. Notify users, of new info, don't demand they see it.

kobold coffee!

Not much to him, just a kobold holding coffee, sat on his own tail. (And he's got a leather belt with a pouch!)

I really want to start vocal training; my voice still feels pretty masculine and it's pretty dysphoric.

I've put off posting this cause I didn't get it done in time for pride month, but here's a piece I did for my girlfriend and I since we didn't get to go to any pride events this year πŸ’–πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ  #furry #furryart #pride

Current reporting from NYT and others (gift link: nytimes.com/live/2024/09/17/wo) essentially confirms the speculation: Supply chain tampering with a new batch 3000 pagers from Taiwan ordered by Hezbollah involving adding 2oz of explosive material near the battery. Reports of 2800 injured, implying that essentially all of them went off, apparently nearly simultaneously, suggesting this was not targeting particular individuals (just anyone with a pager in the batch). At least nine deaths so far.

Brief look at the PSX stream setup I did for last year's Silent Hill stream, where I made a buffer that matched to the game's native resolution* with a PSX-rendering-style vtuber, & NTSC processing for the final render.

[*aside from the menu resolution, which I do go over how I preserved elsewhere]
