@gardevoir A bit related; "Taking the W" means kissing Renamon cheeksquiggles!

a plea to trans folks in NL, especially trans guys please boost

y'all i'm being so desperate right now. dysphoria keeps kicking me in the ass badly and i dont think i can keep going anymore - and it's still too early for me to pursue the "clean" path of transition

please, if someone got spare testosterone gel or something (very preferred as i despise needles and am too afraid of them) please reach out to me. im willing to pay up i just can't fucking live like that. i just want to ease the pain.

if you want to move to a secure place to discuss this also let me know. im begging on my knees i feel like going DIY-ish is the only way for me at this point

please

Any Loom fans here?

I made a Bobbin Threadbare cosplay early this year, and now I finally have some proper photos of it. Here’s the first one.

The photo was taken by @void256 and edited by me.

I hate that I'm so Online™ that I get this joke.

(Read the alt text if you don't get it, because the description is also an explanation.)

This made me smile this morning (and lest be frank we could all do with a smile on a Friday morning):

The Alternative Heritage Plaque for John Venn - the inventor of the Venn diagram - in his birthplace Kingston upon Hull in Yorkshire.

@avon_deer It can on some, a lot of them are locked down. Thankfully I was able to turn it off on this one, but it makes me think of people who having bought a new TV will be saddled with this "feature" and never turn it off

@avon_deer It's an interpolation thing on new TVs to make "sports look better" but for everything else it makes things look weirdly fast moving.

The thing about staying in a modern hotel is remembering that motion smoothing is a thing on new TVs. Absolutely terrible to experience.

@avon_deer @colinstu Pretty sure that there are some government departments which will be having extensive talks with MS right now about this, and it will boil down to "Let us block Copilot in Enterprise or we will leave your ecosystem."

My most used #accessibility tool is a pair of needle-nose pliers. They live on my kitchen counter.

Small pinching motions are painful and difficult? Need to take the plastic/paper/metal seal off every bottle and jug on the planet? Needle-nose pliers.

They're also great for opening pull tab cans, single-serving cat food containers, and cardboard boxes with those horrible little push/pull pour spout tabs.

The GOV.UK “exit this page" button (for pages that might be visited by e.g. domestic abuse victims seeking support) doesn't take you to the Google homepage but instead BBC Weather, and the reason why is interesting and well-thought-out: beeps.website/blog/2024-10-09-
