I'm happy to announce the *Libreboot 3050 Micro*:

minifree.org/product/libreboot

This is a Dell OptiPlex 3050 Micro with Libreboot pre-installed, replacing Dell's proprietary UEFI firmware. Your choice of Debian Linux, other distro or BSD.

Libreboot offers greater security and faster boot speeds than Dell's firmware. This is a 7th gen mainboard; it replaces the larger Libreboot 9020SFF.

I'm Libreboot's founder / lead dev. Sales fund Libreboot.

Libreboot T480 also launched:

Discord has rolled out an annoying new "feature" where now it sends push notifications every time someone reacts to a message with an emoji. This can be turned off in settings > notifications

Progress!
The code is a huge buggy mess, and 2 of the displays are prototypes, so need to be re printed to one degree or another. Aaaaaaand they all need to be properly calibrated again.
Still a huge amount of work to do before we can think about the casing, and we've not even touched the eInk display yet,
BUT it IS progressing.

TODAY: The Dyke Project are organising a phone and email blockade on Wes Streeting between 12-5pm in response to him indefinitely extending the ban on puberty blockers for trans youth – leaving them without life-saving healthcare

If you're based in the UK, PLEASE try to find some time today to send an email or make a call. Mass involvement is crucial.

@philpem "It's a one of a kind piece of broadcast hardware that someone will pay this for eventually I assume"

@dragonarchitect @Jencen I used to have an issue with Phillips and pozidrive camming out until I was helpfully informed that the bits are not interchangeable ^^;

One of the major RF test equipment suppliers (Rohde & Schwarz) has published a FREE 129 page technical note on making common measurements using a spectrum analyzer. While focused on using R&S equipment, many measurements are also applicable for those with other brands (even lower cost home lab equipment like TinySA-Ultra, etc.). Includes background theory and how-to-measure step-by-step walk throughs. A fun read for geeks!

[NOW SPELL: A MESSAGE FROM THE BOT ADMIN]

Hey all! The instance this bot runs on, botsin.space, will be shut down this month, with a migration deadline set for the 15th. This bot will stay active, but I need a little help!

My question: is there any preferred bots-only instance to move this account onto? My main concern is image hosting (I average 2gb total with yearly deletion).

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for sticking around after all these years!

@pawcelot I keep thinking about getting some of these eventually, when I get my paws on an Atari ST or something of that era that can do midi

@kootenay !!!

I think I've told you that Tseatah makes me swoon; Rena-Tseatah is double-swoon!! *^^* πŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’›

I refuse the title of troublemaker

I much prefer the term "contempt creator"
