Tired of having to put 555-01XX numbers in fiction just to avoid having it collide with a real phone number? Does the 555 look too obviously fake? Turns out the most invalid NANP phone numbers follow the format 19X-N11-XXXX, where X is any digit and N is either 0 or 1. This format violates all four rules NANP sets for valid phone number formatting, so it's a pretty good bet it will never become a valid phone number in the future either.

Not wanting to start an argument so writing this as its own statement but idolizing pre-industrial production is weird.

Yes there was a period in the 18th century that was horrible before unions and worker's rights.

Don't trust someone who think it is desirable to at full scale go back to pre-industrial methods of production. Just like with Libertarianism or Anarchism it is a daydream, it cannot work in real life.

People self hosting services from home without a static ip:

how do you expose your services on the web? No-ip? DuckDNS? Tailscale? Something else?

Cloudflare is out of the discussion for me, as I self host to avoid corporations.

If you saw a jolly person of size in a red parka and flying a sleigh pulled by 8 reindeer a couple nights ago, you probably thought nothing of it.
We're happy to announce the successful extraction of a #trans man and 16 queer #furries from the North Pole, where conditions have been deteriorating for #queer people for some time.
