This has mostly been reported as "trans women banned from women's chess" but it's much more sinister. (as if it weren't already.)

ALL trans people are targeted by this ruling. Trans men will be stripped of all chess titles won, which can only be returned to them by “changing the gender back to a woman” (from the ICF’s ruling). ALL transgender chess players will be marked as trans in their files.

If you play or know anyone who does take a stand on this. It's ugly.

These are Latin terms which I know from their use in chemistry.

- cis means 'the same side of'
- trans means 'the other side of'

When I first heard these words applied to gender they made perfect sense and are perfectly acceptable.

So in case you missed it, the mercenary group Wagner seems to have turned against Russia, and by multiple accounts, they entered Russia to little initial resistance and they are planning a coup.

I doubt Wagner poses any serious threat to Putin. But there WILL be attempts to make them the good guys (I already see glimpses of it on soscial media). They're not. They've an extensive history of war crimes.
