@feathers hahaha, is it conceited? i detect no conceit in your declaration tbh, it's more like you're open to a challenge and confident in your skillset. as for myself, if I had to describe me... id say that im the eccentric mountain hermit coder, so detached from present day and reality that people generally don't even know what to make of me and probably stay away because i smell bad and stare at them

@Lumi i know this feeling tbh, tho im trying to do better while recovering from this concussion, haha

@Los_Ingobernables_De_Jorts@jorts.horse @johnrandom well so i was thinking they wouldn't act like dumbasses since they'd be enbies and not cishet dudes, it changes the calculus

would be a totally different movie!

the best prank that i ever did turned out to not be a prank

it was like, back in the stone age, and i found myself with a lot of time and a stack of linux cds

my brother asked me if i could help him install a new game. well, being a considerate older sibling, i of course set him up to dual boot into debian woody and started up nethack for him and walked away.

i waited for hours for the screams of terror. nothing happened. i walked in his room afterwards, and he's obsessed.

i made a monster..

@lynnesbian clearly, it needs more linux shitposting, lol

but, to keep things fresh, all Slackware all the time

misgendering, a fair amount of anger

@Lumb tbh, she sounds like a srsly shitty person. that's complete and utter bs

please stop telling your kings and queens to go off. they are on my lawn and loudly slaying at all hours of the night. i have not slept in weeks

@Guinevere@girlcock.club bwahahahaha, i suppose i could have tried that yeh XD

@monorail ikr? that game is so brutally difficult, hahaha. i mean, i play roguelikes to it's hard to rattle me, but crosscode had some Brutal challenges

i constantly found myself getting knocked around lol, and the puzzle levels were basically an endurance run

@feathers there was this moment when an (ex) friend of mine that knew R and Python said, "lol, i could have written that thing you wrote in half the time, i use so much code over here"

so, i told him to go for it. he uh.... yeah. let's just say that without the basics of CS there's a lot of stuff that gets really difficult

as a side note, i never took any CS courses but i beat my head against it and read lots of stone age programming books, so i understand Things most times

@monorail this is okay... i should switch back to lea some day tbh, i really love her XD

@Guinevere@girlcock.club lol, i don't think that those words would mean *anything* to her tbh XD

@monorail (nod)

tho, i've updated my avvie back to crow form, hahaha

@feathers oh my goodness.... bwhahahaha

actually tho, this made me realize that the trend of teaching everyone python is probably not a good idea, since it means that static typing and the difference between instantiation and assignment are Never taught these days

capitalism is the disease.

anarchy is the treatment.

socialism is the cure.

dr. scarly is now in office and ready to prescribe.

@Guinevere@girlcock.club tbh, i did try and the response was pretty much "why do i want to know about something that i can't even use?"

i was weeping. almost feel like i was being trolled, except she was so sincere

@maple @TheHottestPotato tbh, i think that this is good advice

i'll just be over here pretending to know as little as possible the next time she asks me a question, lol

@TheHottestPotato i think that this is pretty true, especially when it comes to things like this

the astonishing part of the whole thing is that she's convinced that i know nothing about programming. it's amazing.

i even showed her a project that i did, and she was like, "ok" and then continued the strangeness

i... can't... even........
