@CornishRepublicanArmy to me, this is actually an extremely strange perspective

i studied economics in grad school and it seemed to me that we kept talking about all of these costs that are being imposed by profit seeking organizations that are not being counter balanced by regulations

it's interesting, because it seemed like almost right about the time i learned all of this stuff about negative externalities and how they're a weakness of our "free markets" - they stopped really teaching it

for the life of me, i don't understand anarchocapitalists

yes, sure, let's... tear it all apart... so we can do the same damn thing. brilliant! why didn't i think of that?

anarchy and capitalism are mutually incompatible

THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN

@CornishRepublicanArmy frequently, tbh, only i don't tend to cancel myself since the world sucks and pleasant escapism can be fun

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Haibane Renmei is one of those shows that just stuck with me the moment I started watching it ages back tbh

@froyo255 agreed on this point, tbh - actually, from that angle it's kinda sad that they had to (again) resort to really pumping up a male lead as being Utterly Amazing, when actually they could have made a really good show by focusing on Rin

@sadie_bunny @froyo255 oh my goodness, ok so like - Re:Creators was the single most frustrating show that i've ever watched

i wanted to like it, because of the plot and the ridiculously full cast list. yeah no. the entire thing ended up revolving around a truly mediocre Reluctant Male Lead with literally no personality and no non-artificial reason for being important to the story.

anime would be a better genre if they just took all of the Reluctant Male Leads and just deleted them.

callout post, drama

i hate to do this but honestly the shit i have been seeing on the tl and hearing about from my friends has got me seriously pissed off. y'all heard about this hot new mode of production, goes by the handle "capitalism"? yeah well it's not your new fave shade queen. capitalism is racist, sexist, homophobic, and transphobic, and i have the receipts to prove it

Fate/Stay Night would be 10x better if you killed off Shirou at the beginning and made Rin the protagonist alongside Archer and Saber

Change my mind (good lick)

@froyo255 agreed tbh - i think the show would have been just fine without the Standard Reluctant Male Lead (omg, im not fond of tropes at all)

Hot take: post-apocalyptic fiction is so popular because people desperately want to live lives that aren't yoked by capitalism, but are unable to even conceive of such a thing happening without the world ending first

you, refined and erudite: "look at that pretty bouquet!"💐

me, crass and legally forbidden from speaking french: "ay, check out that romance salad!"💐

Good morning, how much do I love myself, is it enough to not click on this, nope

a love like the kind to light the night's sky. effervescent as a dying star.

Subverting capitalism by whispering communist propaganda into the ears of babies which will remain in their subconscious minds forever as a bit.

@scarly @klara oh shit, I forgot about SOAP. Yeah having APIcontracts was nice, but it was probably the worst possible implementation

@klara this is valid, tbh

i was one of them, and i still feel guilt and shame for some of the things that i pushed out there into the world

(also bonus points for remembering SOAP, which was an abomination)

@scarly For what it's worth, before that people were trying to use XML for the same purpose.
