i don't read the news as much as i used to. the amount of bad takes in mass media have reached a critical mass of late. it really isn't worth keeping up with, considering the stress already involved in just day to day life

@caelyn same for both myself and @Chel - we were frightened and confused when the age of forums came to a close

honestly, i still don't know what happened

@scarly she exists, just not in any measurable sense where the internet is concerned

she's like... Schrodinger's gf. except... wait, she isn't Schrodinger's gf, she's our gf.

@SamanthaCayne same tho! im totally and completely lost and that's okay

what about you?

What it means to be "white" and how we see it as it applies to us; racism; long; personal

@KitsuneAlicia@octodon.social Privilege is an intersectional hellscape. I think that it's valid to not put whiteness at the forefront of one's identity, especially considering the modern context assigned to that identity.

During the time that I was away from mastodon, I tried this whole social network thing called in-real-life. I didn't really like it as much, it can be a scary place.

Thing that I've learned - privilege can be intersectional in weird and unexpected ways. I had thought that I was good at navigating this, but over the last year, I've learned that honestly, it's always possible to learn more, grow more, and develop a more healthy respect for the ways that capitalism can mess you up.
