i'm pleased to announce that i'm not good with computer.

Self-cancellation

@Chel @slightlyflightyone@vulpine.club tbh, i've always found most of the yoshi games to be lacking in 'muchness'

Self-cancellation

@slightlyflightyone@vulpine.club oh come on, no one should cancel you over that!

super paper mario was different, sure, but it was actually a really good game tbh

@Lumb so. i have to say. this seems like a portland thing.. amiright?

Not having a car is forcing me to go walking through the neighborhood more and I just heard a kid scream “come on everybody we’re going to go make slime!” And it renewed my faith in this country a tiny bit

whoever invented json and decided that we should use it for everything should be punished.

wait no, no one invented it really. json is actually just a side effect of using javascript in browsers that became a standard due to the philosophy of "well hell, it seems to work so why not?", which is also known as the guiding principle behind 90% of web development.

"fucks per hour is an actual unit of measurement" - @scarly while coding

the crow grits her teeth in frustration as she slowly crawls through the particulars of implementing activitypub

she does not like what she sees, but still - she carries on.

@DragonessDella@octodon.social @Chel @KitsuneAlicia@octodon.social this view is endorsed by your friendly local anarchosocialist crow

Me: I'm on the fediverse

Fediversian warlock: WeLl AcTuAlLy, what you're referring to as 'the fediverse", or as I have taken to naming it, the ***actipubverse***, is REALLY a collection of FOSS services adhering to the ActivityPub protocol...

Oh... no.

My.

Googy Plus.

Account.

Is going... away?

What ever...

shall I

do?

help.

Sunless Skies has consumed my life.

re: happy caps. sunless skies rambles

@Chel @allegras1stmate@tabletop.social to be honest, i was concerned with failbetter had to let some staff go and restructure while working on this game. i got the distinct sense that they were putting so much of themselves into it that it was putting their jobs and livelihood at risk

well, i now see why. the finished game is artwork. a masterpiece of craft.

i only hope that the sales are good enough to keep the lights on and prepare the way for the next

political, privilege discourse

@fluffshy @lyliawisteria hi fluff, no offense but i feel like you missed the meaning of my post in its entirety

^^;

may i make a suggestion? don't try to make pedantic corrections with people that you are not familiar with, because it's very likely that you will end up being remarkably insulting.

youd chuckle at how many times developers have appreciated my insights into program structure, and then recoiled in horror when i apply the exact same critical processes to the inefficiencies of capitalism

@scarly I can rarely not read McFlurries as McFurries, and most of the time I see "rabbi", I add a "t" automatically.

there's an intersection between privilege and how much someone trusts in authority

basically, it’s like this. the more privilege you have, the less likely you are to have ever been at the wrong end of militarized police forces, unfortunate socioeconomic outcomes, and general institutional oppression

the ability to blindly assume good faith in all circumstances is not something that everyone gets to have. please understand this in your conversations with peers that maybe don’t have it as well.

You’ve heard of sleepless in seattle? how about Powerless in Seattle? :battery_empty:
