@wolfcoder yup, that's pretty much my position on things.

i think about it like this (and someone else said something similar here in comments) - if someone is "affiliated with" a white power organization, for example, then i give them the same wide berth that i give actual white power organizations

also, it's often too risky from many avenues to not have this lens.

honestly, my take on the fbi is that anyone that works for or with them is a cop, because they are

i like my simple non-nuanced take. it helps me keep perspective

i know some peeps are talking about technicalities, but do you think that the feds give af when they come after oppressed communities?

there's a lot of history there, and lots of valid reasons for the bad vibes. to ignore it all bc someone is only "affiliated" with a horrifically bad organization seems like a pointless distinction

brain health (mildly funny? idk)

*pours myself a bowl of milk for the morning*

i am so happy that i am doing well after my concussion

... wait... isn't there something that's supposed to go into this bowl.... other than the milk....

the first thing that i do when i get a new operating system is to turn everything some shade of purple

if an operating system will not allow this, then it is a travesty and must be deleted

@stolas if you constantly agree with others in your same social sphere, blindly believe what a single person says while attacking those that do not, frequently feel a need to defend behaviors that you wouldn't defend from people outside of your group, and consider a single person to somehow be elevated above others........ then yeah, you might be in a cult of personality.

@Elizafox this has literally been the story of my concussion recovery period

i wanna wrote code. but like, i found this old game and i just want to enjoy it...

time to look through my pre-prepared box of useful self justifications for procrastination.

uspol

@legendaryjoeb i know that feeling. even trying to keep up with it all is draining. at this point, i am concerned that whoever wins may not really be the best... just the second pick of everyone that was voting as others drop out.

people that follow cults of personality need to ask themselves why they are here.

replicating the toxic patterns found in other social networks will poison the fediverse.

i feel like the culture of the fediverse shifts a little bit every week or so. on one side, it's quite dynamic and satisfying. on the other, it leaves me with an exhausting, low-key fear that if i step away then ill never be able to keep up with things.

when i was a kid, i remember giving a presentation on how the internet would bring people together and help end hatred. that was a while ago, and obviously it didn't work out that way.

still, i find that i am personally able to make friends that i would never have been able to make if the internet wasn't a thing. that, at least, makes me hopeful for the future, even though today and every day can be depressing.

food, canning

@Chel @porsupah tbh, i almost want to try canned chicken...

almost.

in the future.... will we... will we have canned pizza??

i'm still getting used to the windows subsystem thing. i have to say it can be a little weird to really think about this thing sometimes.

like..... what dimension is this?
