i don't think there's any doubt social platforms are somewhat inherently popular in japan, just look at 2ch
i wonder however if there's any link with mastodon being so suddenly popular and the fact that it's done in ruby, a japanese language?
can docker-mastodon run comfortably on 1gb and we just did something wrong? we had to scale to 2gb to avoid out of memory errors
but it's expensive
