the microcontroller i recommend is the Oatmeal Oatymega series, as they have decent cereal capabilities

@softgoat Oooh childhood memories! I used to have (Still have) an Olivetti Educator with an AMD 486 and I'd play Doom all day long! Never had the chance to try Skifree though. I've started using that computer when I was 3 years old :). It came with Windows 3.1 and MS DOS but we upgraded it to the shiny new WIndows 95 (It was so modern back then). I miss MS DOS and Win 3.1, honestly, old computing. I guess I was a weird child because Doom didn't scare me.
