basically what i'm saying is that anakin skywalker fell to the dark side because the institutions around him so clearly and obviously decided that a mounting avalanche of trauma was something not only that they could ignore, but that they could actively punish anakin skywalker for daring to have, so that the only coping strategy he had was guilt and self-hatred.

The jedi were in charge, the light side was pretty fucking on top, and they thought "oh, bring balance, that's totally good for us, right?"
