brexit
Since Royal Assent was given to that bill that requires the PM to ask the EU for an extension to article 50 the brexiteers have started being angry at the Queen
Interesting that a bunch of people so obsessed with "sovereignty" have turned on a fucking dime against an actual literal sovereign
brexit
@Anarkat yep
if it was a literal rubber stamp that put it into effect the brexiteers would proclaim the inanimate stamp a traitor and say it should have chosen not to function at that moment
brexit
@troubleMoney isn't royal assent given to everything, though?
Since the monarchy is now only a figurehead, and now holds only a ceremonial apolitical position, don't they have no choice but to rubber stamp approval everything that parliament passes?
