@softgoat from what I understand (which is admittedly limited) an SLR camera is one what has mirrors and prisms and stuff in it so that what you see in the viewfinder is exactly what you're taking a picture of through the main lens, as opposed to non-SLR cameras where you'd have the viewfinder looking through a separate lens

a DSLR is one of them what uses a digital sensor instead of film

@softgoat 'course, if you're taking pictures by looking at the screen on the camera instead of through the teeny tiny viewfinder it'll make bugger all difference if it's SLR or not
