honestly, with @brainblasted talking to the admins and the admins making it clear their stance is pro-bigotry in the "well mneh mneh we just luv freeze peach too much so we can't do anything to stooop that" way, i'd urge everyone to be really vocal that / are now selling dangerous products

the some products might even be good! but paying for the security of a gated community means nothing when the guard knows your roommate's a serial killer, and does nothing about it.

@wigglytuffitout @brainblasted i find it really obnoxious they voice their "free speech" as though other companies already don't go out of their way to "respect users free speech to the extent that can be legally possible" because thats literally the most profitable position to have.

@oct2pus what makes it maddening is that i think we're at a tipping point where consumers are more and more aware that legality =/= morality, AND that consumers are wanting to no longer accept "we do as required by law and no more". it's why mastodon exists! heck, it's why purism exists, and that's the market they're trying to get money from!

it's bonkers. why would you say you weren't part of a bubble while also banking on that bubble continuing so you can profit?? 6_9

@wigglytuffitout there's this tendency from free software proponents to only want to consider morality from the perspective of software/hardware and refuse to link these values to anything but software/hardware.
