Muppet Lord of the Rings cast list
@witchfynder_finder may i suggest the swedish chef as that one orc/goblin?/etc who yells MEAT'S BACK ON THE MENU, BOYS
5. if you've got something real dry, too, you can put the drops there. i find crackers are pretty ok for this. this way you can count out the drops a lot more accurately. doing crackers in a bit of a stack means it can soak down into the next if needed, and you'll hopefully taste more cracker than oil.
6. cbd oil thankfully doesn't have much of a taste, just, well, it's oil, it's gonna be oily. however, these tips should work ok for tinctures or so on with tastes too. (3/3)
some cbd oil tips from ur local spoonie
4. taking the drops might be a bit of a struggle unless you're really good at chugging oil lol. so, the best way i've found to do this taking it straight is to put the drops underneath your tongue, then, without swallowing yet, chug something pretty strong tasting. it helps if it's also a drink with a bit of fat in it already. chocolate milk, basically. chocolate goddamn milk is so good for this.

some cbd oil tips from ur local spoonie
1. some companies do have #cbdoil in gelcaps! this makes it really easy to take, especially if you're a #spoonie on the go.
2. however if you want more variable dosing options, cbd oil with a dropper is often a better choice
3. with a variable dose of drops, you can also buy a stronger strength and then just cut the dose you take - and this will often mean you come out ahead money-wise (which helps bc this shit is a bit expensive)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCq9AmqCeQc a really good vibe for today. π (it's an hour of wintery animal crossing tunes with some ambiance and sound effects!)
@Incandescente@crazynoisybizarre.town i can only assume your ye aesthetic is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6EoRBvdVPQ
@jcarter@mastodon.social oh noooo back pain is the worst!!! if you want, i can give you some drive-by spoonie recs - https://www.askdoctorjo.com/ is a really handy website of stretches and so on, clearly presented, and she talks about modifications etc. so all levels of physical fitness can do them. if it keeps up i also highly recommend Two Old Goats cream, it's a pain relief cream that actually does something (surprisingly rare lol) and doesn't smell super obnoxious, just herb-y. feel better soon!!!
when i get back in to #ffxiv i should do my long threatened idea of a macro i can hit at the start of dungeons saying hello and giving people some real quick basic stretches to do while we all load in...
....and see how many dungeons i get punted out of and/or how quickly i get my π burger king crown taken away for being an awful mentor π
anyway i'm sure there will be a lot of heavensturn events in #ffxiv showcasing eastern food, but i'm still going to simmer that idea around in my head a bit. maybe a #ffxivrp even where it's GOOD OL' LIMSAN HOME-COOKING, SO COME EAT YOUR BLACK EYED PEAS FOR PLENTY OF HEALTH IN THE NEW YEAR. if eorzea has black eyed peas. i know there's other legumes at least and... well now y'all know why i leveled botany huh
of course that all goes a bit wonky when you look at the food history of it because so much traditional southern cuisine - soul food - is directly inherited from *slave food*, and nothing in eorzea is parallel to that. so i'm probably best left researching my usual paralells for limsa lominsan food - revolutionary era american colonial foodstuffs and victoriana (listen, mrs beeton has my fucking back ok??? you want a sample menu, you want recipes, you want techniques, SHE GOT YOU.)
case in point, i'm honestly pondering doing a mini rp event in #ffxiv where the bar/tearoom/cafe opens for a special new year dinner, where i can look at all of the historical traditional new year's food and represent it. okay, so it may be half research, half an excuse to serve ham, black eyed peas, and collard greens (or eorzean equivalent thereof). (with pepper hot sauce on every table ofc, i'm not a monster who would make even fictional characters eat collards without)
xmas food
@envgen it's possible there's some analogue still in more northern cooking but i don't know of it off-hand. the closest christmas dessert is probably fruitcake which has been soaked with rum sometimes for weeks before serving, but we don't do any fun stuff like set it on fire or hide a coin in it to see who gets good luck.*
*over in nawlins they do have the baby in mardi gras cakes however
