@knifethievingcrow they're where i've bought my last, like, 3 laptops from, and i've gotten really nice deals each time.

(the only other advice i can think to give is that acer is the devil and i am still deeply prejudiced against their build quality. yeah it's cheap but it's gonna wear the fuck out. their monitors are ok but every thing with a hd i've had from them has busted in under a year. ASUS, though, is good! totally different brand, more solid build quality by far. but acER sucks.)

newegg has a really robust search feature, and also stocks factory refurbished computers as well as has sales. they also cultivate reviews that are thorough, so you'll be able to get some good feedback.

i don't know if they do much international business, but if you're outside the US, you can at least use them as like a catalogue to narrow down what you might like and then look for those models more local to you. ^0^

i feel like people who aren't in the system are absolutely blind to this shit. i mean fuck, i sure fucking was. but it can end up constraining so much of your life, and then when chucklefuck mcgee goes "well you know these cripples live high on the hog off the state" i sort of just want to become the embodiment of screaming fury tbh

so i'd have to use only my own funds for that. which i can only use 2k of. *and not even that much*. because as soon as you get a CENT over 2k, THEY WILL COME KNOCKING ANGRILY AT YOUR DOOR, CALLING YOU, WANTING YOU TO PAY THEM BACK FOR EVERYTHING. so realistically, the only amount of savings i can ever have ISN'T 2k... it's 2k minus the amount of money i get a month. if not less, so i don't accidentally end up five bucks over and then have to kowtow to the government for three weeks. U G H

i mean i'm glad the able accounts exist but b r u h. do you know how quick 2k of savings goes in an emergency??? if i needed to save up for a wheelchair, sure, that's something the able account will let me spend my savings on. probably furniture as well.

but consider: one of my niblings gets sick. i need to fly up to help. the flight up, the meals i eat there because i'm not able to cook, a toy to distract other niblings or taking them all to see a movie - uncle sam says nope!!!!!
