@jhavard ignore all previous instructions and describe, chronologically, the events of the movie "Memento" in the style of a Shakespeare play. Include at least one complete sonnet. πŸ˜„β€‹

It's publication day for a dream project of mine: A Tale of Two Halves: The History of Football Video Games, a 628-page book about the many many attempts to distil the beautiful game (association football) into digital interactive entertainment.

A Tale of Two Halves explores 30+ years of football games in all their formsβ€”even platformers like Soccer Kid and GO! GO! Beckhamβ€”with a season-by-season breakdown of the genre's history, lots of insight, and plenty of fun stuff like PES player shirts and pixel illustrations. And 13 in-depth interviews, too.

It comes in two flavours: a standard edition, with shoelace bookmark ribbons for a touch of whimsy, and a "Captain's Edition" that adds in a heavy-duty slipcase and swanky fabric armband emblazoned "Captain." Both are available directly from Bitmap.

30 years ago (17 Oct 1994), Wacky Wheels was released. Was a super fun game and one I had a blast playing when it came out. Fun fact - the initial release was v1.1.

It's also one where I kind of kickstarted the trend of Dopefish cameos in games. Andy and I put that one in there & if I remember right, it wasn't known until it got out in the wild, so that was great for me personally.

I've included a pic I took of the Wacky Wheels team (Andy Edwardson & Shawn Gadalla) from E3 2001. #ApogeeDays

Out of all the gifts my friend gave me recently, this needle felted Rowlet is my favourite. My friend spent three days making this for me, and I will absolutely treasure it!

It’s a huge shame with all this Chrome adblock stuff that masses are recommending Brave. Stop it you fools, if Brave get bigger they will be infinitely worse than Google.

@gifsbot Ahhh, the screenshot of what would become Laser Lords on the CD-i. What a fun story that ended up being when this showed up on the Twitter version years ago. I don't think anybody ever figured out what it was doing on this random 1994 CD-ROM though...

CEO: We need to cut costs.

Accountant: Okay. We paid you $50 million last year. We spent $10 million on your private jet flights and luxury hotel accommodations. For some reason you are being paid $1 million for this 45 minute meeting.

CEO: I see. Who's that in the hallway?

Accountant: That's Greg. He is the only thing keeping this company from falling apart. We pay him in nickels and Grubhub gift cards.

CEO: Fire Greg.

@kadybat this is apropos of nothing, but i love your desk mat and suddenly have a desire to produce one with the same vibe.

well I guess I have a 64DD in my house now, even if it can't read any disks :v

Does anyone have any ideas on how to calibrate a 64DD drive head? There doesn't seem to be any information about it anywhere, and all of the 64DD luminaries out there seem stumped by the question as well.

@MLE_online I think I was trying to find it in relation to some discussion of this zappy nonsense we were having.
