i can make websites. i made this entire website. i did not design this website, but i laid it out and programmed it entirely with Hugo so that the designer who commissioned it could update its extremely customised content without needing my help. i can make a website like this for you indigotrance.com

i mean, i joke, but then i remembered there was a chunk of tumblr who literally thought that way about a dramatized version of Jeffrey Dahmer

Okay, so

Check this out

Apple put up applications to get a Vision devkit yesterday.

This is the error message I get if I try to put in an application. I interpret it as meaning that because I don't have a subscription to the Apple Developer Program, I can't apply for the Vision devkit. The Apple Developer Program costs $100/year.

So in other words if you want to release an app for Vision you have to pay $100 to *apply* for the *opportunity* to pay $3500 for development hardware.

So, real talk: why does GameCenter CX gets so little recognition as one of the most important transmission on games ever? Considering it's been going on for 20 years, I wonder almost no one has recognized how it predated so many current trends: retrogame mania, nostalgia, let's play, how we talk about retro games, etc

Turns out that Web Environment Integrity proposal everybody is getting angry about (imo very legitimately) was effectively already shipped by Apple in Safari last year: httptoolkit.com/blog/apple-pri

That means if Chromium ships it too, we could quickly move to 90%+ of browser traffic being attested. Not good!

Some of the lushest #Amiga AGA graphics you'll ever see. Ishar II and III are a treat for the eyes - and are solid RPGs.

Silmarils would sadly go bankrupt in 2003 after publishing a truly varied catalogue of games but are best known for their RPGs.

To protest a #PrideMonth display at their local public #library, right-wing activists thought it would be smart to check out all the featured books and threaten to keep them until the library promised to remove them from its collection.
nytimes.com/2023/07/22/us/prid

It backfired. Citizens gave $15k and the city gave $30k to replace the books and expand the collection.

If you're the type that likes to use those 88x31 buttons to link to stuff, I threw one of those together, too.

I made a website today, by installing Microsoft FrontPage 98 on a 26-year-old laptop. And that website is about golf simulators. Well, more specifically, that website is about two bookshelves that contain golf simulators.

Get to know the Golfshrine at netizen.club/~wildweasel - retro browsers welcomed!

This is scary. It's (strong) SafetyNet for websites.

Every now and then I run into another Android app I can no longer run because someone decided my phone, running an official build of my choice of OS, that isn't even rooted, is "not trustable".

Now they want to start doing that for websites.

This kills open Linux on the desktop (including Asahi Linux). It kills alternative browsers. It is a backdoor to kill ad blockers.

No. Just no. Please.
