A quick search of the Perforce website gives a whole bunch of similar articles that all follow the same format. Even articles with titles like "Working with Git", "Ways to scale Git" and "Best Practices for Git Commit" are ads which in some cases spread FUD and disinformation like "Github is not safe"
Googling "what is git lfs" gives a featured snippet that leads to a competing product's website. The article answers the question in a biased way that carefully points out all the downsides of using git before launching into a full-on ad for their product. Sleazy use of SEO in a way that manipulates search results
Fascinating both for what it says about dev & what it says about statistics:
A gamedev realized Linux users were just 5.8% of their sales, but represented 38% of bug reports.
Then they looked at those numbers closer, and realized. Linux users were not experiencing more bugs. Almost none of the Linux-user bugs were Linux-related. Linux users were simply *more likely to file bugs*.
Their conclusion: A linux port pays for itself bc it nerdsnipes ppl into giving u free QA
TMI re: bathroom functions
I'm coming to discover that the human bladder can contain an emergency reserve that kicks in when you decide "alright I'm done in here I need to get up" - that's when the feeling comes back and you wind up staying for another minute or so to try to get rid of the rest of it.

Hey! Did you know I once put #Doom and #gameboy (playable!) on credit card machines? Or ported Wordle to #PalmOS ? I've been plumbing all sorts of #tech into all sorts of other tech professionally for almost a decade now (unprofesionally for 16 years!) with an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of computers and low-level embedded code. I can also do killer hand-crafted #webdesign without relying on platforms or frameworks! And I can draw you in #pixelart for a modest price!
I'm currently 99% unemployable due to being legally in Brazil and physically in the UK. I've been without a stable income for 2 years now and I desperately need something my way. If you know of any commission or contract work that won't bug me with where I am geographically, please let me know!

My classic ThinkPad T43 (from 2005) used IDE/PATA storage. That's slow and unreliable, especially after the PATA->SATA bridge IBM included.
Instead, let's use NVMe SSDs in the ExpressCard/34 slot!
I modified the BIOS to include a custom Option ROM, which can translate the BIOS disk accesses into NVMe.
Windows XP, Debian 12, MS-DOS 6 can boot fine from NVMe!

Buick. Buick. Buick. Buick.
I'd say it doesn't sound like a word anymore but that'd imply it ever did. Buick. Buick. Buick.
I boosted a thing about microsoft not letting you use third-party controllers on the xbox anymore, and I guess they're justifying that with "prevents cheating" or whatever and, like, cheating-wise
the machine lives IN PEOPLE'S HOUSES
I don't think you can ever overcome that. Play around with maths and touch computers all you want, if folk wanna cheat badly enough then The Machine Is In Their House, ain't nothing you can do about it. None of what the manufacturers try has ever worked for long, and nor will it, because The Machine Literally Lives In Your House FFS
