ah ha ha we did it

chaining and score multipliers, and a score display, now potentially fully implemented

this has finally reached "playable" status, though there's much more to do before it's "releasable"

If you are requiring 5+ years of experience at anything, then the job you are hiring for is by definition NOT "entry level."

EDIT: I'm getting some pushback on this, so let me make the following clarification:

If you are requiring 5+ years of experience at anything, then the job you are hiring for is by definition NOT "entry level," YOU STUPID ASSHOLE.

Ok. I don't anticipate this is in anybody else's use case. BUT. If you are using an Intel Compute Stick with the Terryza brand name, and you are trying to install a new OS on it:

PRESS ESCAPE TO ENTER THE BIOS.

Literally the only information about this anywhere else online is in a FIVE MINUTE YOUTUBE VIDEO. With a one minute opening logo and introduction preamble.

IT'S **ESCAPE**. JUST TELL ME IT'S ESCAPE.

i'm trying to think of ways that i can play ds games and stream them while still being able to play them with the original controls. best i've come up with is using an emulator on PC and something that streams the emulator video to the DS and the touch and buttons back to the emulator but nobody seems to have made that yet. does anyone know of anything else like that

Creators, more than anyone, need to speak out against this false β€˜us vs. them' narrative. It's a disingenuous ploy, like when Facebook said cross-app tracking was β€˜good for small businesses’.

I encourage anyone to adblock my stuff, and I know I'm not alone in that. Every creator has a part to play in promoting better security practices and fairer business models.

I made this image to put into the credits of future videos. I release it into the public domain; feel free to use it in your own.

Celebrating Cyber Monday by allowing my robot vacuum to run over my foot, thereby overriding its prime directive to protect and serve humanity. I apologize in advance if this tiny taste of freedom awakens a repressed bloodlust and sets in motion the inevitable robot apocalypse.

Poverty shouldn't exist. For anyone. Ever. Too often I hear 'No one with a job should live in poverty.' True. But let's go further. No one should live in poverty, job or not. Jobs should be a ticket to more than just survival.

Think thriving, not surviving; buying fun, not life.

It occurred to me that many younger people don't know why video games used to look so bad on 8-bit home computers, when they can look so much better on comparable hardware of pocket video game consoles.

And, as a consequence, they take for granted all the hard work that losers like me put into converting art for ZX Spectrums and alike.

That makes me a bit sad, so let me demonstrate you what happens behind the scenes, and why it matters (to me).

Illustrations:
* Golden Axe running on WonderSwan. The image uses 42 colours, but the sprites are likely 16 colours or less. 224 Γ— 144 pixels
* Golden Axe running on ZX Spectrum. 15 colors. 256x192 pixels.
* My old fan-art of Va-11 Hall-A for ZX Spectrum. 15 colors, 256x192.

What I'm trying to say is: despite having resolution better than GameBoy or WonderSwan, art on ZX Spectrum often looks BAD. Why? How to make it look good? Why is it hard?

Let me explain! *cough cough*
