Soda machine? Well, specifically one that dispenses cans. Not terribly concerned over the exact style, but would lean towards retro if I had a choice. 70s or 80s-style. Wouldn't even mind if I had to have quarters handy for it.
when i think about the things I Really Want (beyond "constant income with no job needed" and "a bigger, more private living space"), two things always come to mind:
- Soda machine
- Diner menu board

Oh I almost forgot the TRS-80 PC-2 pocket computer and cassette dock with Alps 2” wide plotter. I had fun with this system making some generative designs in BASIC.

And another: the Roland DXY-1150. It lacks electro static paper hold and coordinate display but pretty much the same as the 1200. This was began life as a cable label printer. Today it’s my specialty plotter for floppy disks and the like.

What I'm listening to today: "robotic xylophone", Tout est cassé
This person has a YouTube channel full of art installations and homemade musical instruments. This is a really fun, fascinatingly simple project where they attached a ziptie to a cheap motor, mounted it in the middle of some wooden pegs, and then drove the motor from a cheap Korg drum machine. They spend two minutes exploring all the different emergent Things you can do with this little setup.

This is a prime example of a "feature" that I'm sure someone thought was a brilliant idea, but actually gets in the way of normal use and is highly annoying.
For example, I'm copying/pasting a bunch of CRCs, and some of them apparently look like dates, so whenever I copy one that looks like that, I get a "helpful" popup suggesting that I create an Outlook appointment. 🙄🙄
Definitely should not be on by default.
