i think enshittification as defined by doctorow, meaning "they made the product worse than it used to be, for profit reasons", is a useful word. but my problem is that people are now using it to mean "it's worse now" with no further qualification and i find that really annoying. the enshittification of my back pain over the years

been ripping a lot of DVDs from my family's movie library, to put on the home media server. today's pile includes a basket full of DVD-Rs, which are ripping almost ten times as fast as the commercial pressed ones.
i'm gonna guess that's because they're already decrypted.

The world has changed by immeasurably vast amounts. Number Two and the programmer barely know each other anymore. They've never been on the same page, but now it's unclear if they're even reading the same book.
It's a concept. I don't know if I have a real driving force to the story at all, or if it would be a stream of consciousness the way the original game ended up being. It bears more thinking, I guess.
