well I guess I have a 64DD in my house now, even if it can't read any disks :v
Does anyone have any ideas on how to calibrate a 64DD drive head? There doesn't seem to be any information about it anywhere, and all of the 64DD luminaries out there seem stumped by the question as well.
I've been looking for this dumb sign for years and it finally reappeared on my Facebook feed. Behold, the Tingly Bridge Warning.
@MLE_online I think I was trying to find it in relation to some discussion of this zappy nonsense we were having.
oh hey, NovaMundi is out - colombian indigenous roguelike-sim that seemed pretty neat when I played a demo of it a bunch of years ago
There has NEVER been paper at #SIGGRAPH on Black, Afro-textured hair in its entire 50 year history.
UNTIL NOW.
We introduce CURLY-CUE: GEOMETRIC METHODS FOR HIGHLY COILED HAIR. When you STOP assuming straight hair is a universal baseline, lots of new science opens up.

Infamous 18, to recap, was a golf game from 2006 that puts you on a series of infamous golf holes that previously only existed in paintings, done in the 80s by golfer/artist Loyal H. "Bud" Chapman. The Grand Canyon, Castle Neuschwanstein, even the rooftops of Wall St., are all playable here.
I got a copy of Infamous 18 from eBay back in July, and on finding that the internet had no info about it, put it on Internet Archive and also uploaded a no-commentary play through: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_yKYO3mpmU
I work with a woman whose DAD owns an engraving machine. It no longer works because it runs on Windows 98, but he would like to get it working again. By any chance is there someone on here who might be willing to connect with him about whether this is possible and what to do? Hit me up if it’s you, or please boost, if you don’t mind. Thanks Mastodon!
I got contacted the other day by a YouTuber who wanted to do a video about a certain golf game that I'd helped preserve. Dude seems pretty cool, and the video has just gone live, so here's CD-ROM Fossil's take on Loyal "Bud" Chapman's Infamous 18: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKLNTg18AQY

“Art Nouveau is when it looks made by elves.
Art Deco is when it looks made by dwarves.”
And after looking into it, I think they’re 100% correct.

@VonKant just in case the short link succumbs to link-rot, you might want to link the destination directly: https://www.bothandapparel.com/pages/downloads

So there’s this company in USA that makes clothes for transmac/nb people and it’s closing because they can’t get funding to invest in more material… they release the designs with measurements so you can make your clothes and to pass on all the research they did to make shirts and trousers and jumpers that fit as you would like a cis male garment fit but they don’t because you have hips or butt or you don’t bind… I’m sharing the link.
