"You lured us to our doom!" the captain called.
"We're just singing," the sirens called back.
"To lure us!"
"No, for the love of singing."

I keep thinking I should make use of my vacation time to play some games, since I'm always too tired from work and it's been quite awhile.

But every game I would play just seems like so much energy. Every once in awhile I get a quick memory of a game I enjoyed playing and I'll think "oh yeah, lemme go do that."

But I go to open it up and just feel soooo tired. If it's making me tired before I start, I probably don't actually need to spend time on it.

Me: Someone was nice to me.
My Partner: *immediately* Tell them I love them!

I forgot I had an account here but it's so pretty. I need to use it more but I'm not sure what for. Maybe I'll just post cute pictures of my cats or something.

They're good kitties, they should get more attention. :paw_fx90_raised_hands:

Sigh. Plans for the day cut short when I saw how *much* snow there actually is out there and that I really need to spend this time shoveling.

Ah well.

Comics will still be there on my next day off, probably.

Up and dressed and ready to go on my day off. Plan is to go downtown for comics and food.

I didn't plan for this amount of snow and it's hurting my motivation a little.

But still, comics! Food! I can do this.

And then home again to do some cleaning projects and maybe even decorate for winter holidays?

Yeah, this could be a pretty good day. Take that, cold weather!

If you can boost, that'd be great: I'm still looking for work (Can't seem to find anything and it's killing me) I do freelance work and I'm looking for a job that's tech-adjacent at least.

I am compent with SQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, Python(mostly 3, but I can do 2.7) and UI/UX Design. Also good at research, and non-fiction writing

Freelance or Full-time or Part-time work is fine. Need something.

Lubuntu install went really well. Mostly. I wanted to get LibreOffice on here, but couldn't get it working on either computer. So after a few tries, I gave up and decided I didn't really need it. I've got AbiWord and Plume Creator, between those two I should be set.

Everything else is running smoothly and much faster than I'd thought this computer could run. So yay!

Might still try others for fun, but I think I've found my setup for now.

Really excited about my portable office here.

Linux adventures.

Decided I can't really afford a new laptop so I'm playing with new Linux installs on my 6+ year old netbook (and also my partner's even older but better one because I'm not sure mine can actually handle it).

Tried Kubuntu last night. Works pretty well on partner's, not at all on mine. Today is Lubuntu on mine. If that's both fast/workable and also can handle the programs I want, maybe try it on the better one too? We'll see.

Looking at *maybe* picking up a chromebook if prices go low enough.

Maybe.

I want it, would make it a lot easier to keep up with my writing, but it's a lot to spend at one time on something that's not actually necessary. I've been fighting myself on it for awhile now.

lgbtq, discourse, divisive

I often see it said that "A doesn't stand for Ally." Sometimes I even see it said "A never stood for Ally."

The second one is historical revisioning, and unnecessary to make your point that Ace/Aro people DO belong in queer spaces.

Here is a thread from 2003 on AVEN. Note: "The only problem is, A usually stands for Allies." It really did.

But Ally in this context never really meant Ally. It was a way for closeted queer folx to attend events.

Back to my regularly scheduled job after a busy weekend where I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted.

But it is going to be a good day. I can make it a good day.

Oh, it was only that DJ. Now it's someone else's turn and they're playing weird new stuff I don't like so much. Oh well.

Show thread

I was looking for internet radio stations recently and found out my favorite station from high school is available online.

They still play all the same stuff. And it still calls itself the "*new* rock alternative." :D I mean, there is still new stuff. But quite a bit of it has been stuff I remember listening to back then.

Not a complaint. I am really enjoying this trip down memory lane. Just kind of silly.

I haven't been doing so well. Hoping today I can start to turn things around.

Goals:
1 - Talk to the volunteer coordinator at my church and see if I need to quit because I'm not really doing enough.

2 - Sign up for health insurance, ugh.

3 - Spend some time praying/meditating to center.

4 - Do SO MUCH WRITING.
a - freelance work
b - more freelance work
c - blogging maybe if there's time?

5 - Go to bed early so I can open at work tomorrow, bleh.

That's not so many things. Doable I think.
