help wanted, although none of the common advice I've tried has helped?

how do I stop wasting all my time?

how do I actually do the things I want to do?

how do I spend time on uni so I don't fail even more subjects?

@lizardsquid uhm... I found pomodoros helped, as well as a strong reward system. For instance, I used to do half an hour of work and then a round of MWO.

I spent a lot of time fucking with different TODO systems until I found a really simple one that worked for me.

@Cybertrash pomodoros work for a while for me, but after only a few (2-3) of them I'm completely burnt out for the day

@lizardsquid and that's okay! One thing that worked for me is making a list of three things you want to get done in the day. Be vicious in your decision. And once you get those three things done be willing to declare your day a success and wrap up whenever you're ready.

That way it's not overwhelming (just three things! :0 ) but there's more room to continue if you can. Task management is often more mental than not.

@lizardsquid I found compartmentalization to be very helpful. Do you need study time? Go to the library specifically for study. Go to class early enough, or stay after, to do your homework at a specifically defined time, again in the library. Find other ways to do this. Location can be just as important as blocs of time, if you're anything like me.

@lizardsquid Even moving to a different room and not leaving until a specific task is done may work. Designate somewhere as the "doing school stuff" space. Sit there and work there, and don't use it for anything else.

@lizardsquid It may work for you and it may not, of course, but it may be worth trying if typical time management tactics haven't done the job for you.

@Zero_Democracy actually location has helped in the past, I need to start doing that again...

@lizardsquid Is there even just a local cafe, or some equivalent? Designate a place like that. Walk there, get a coffee or whatever, sit down, make that the place you associate with doing a specific set of tasks.
