bleh. there's workers over at the house working on replacing all the windows which means none of us can focus on anything

Here's the little cutie we managed to rescue today before we let them out into the garden. Be safe little squeaker.

Recommend me some good speculative fiction books, peeps

we just totally fumbled the dice thing huh @kara_dreamer@plural.cafe

eh, we'll start over. we never stick to any new habit immediately, haha. but I'm gonna land on you even harder, tomorrow

Update: Asking for $, urgent

I start my new job on Tuesday. I've gotten about $150 of the $830 I need to cover rent and storage. I don't get my paycheck until at least the 11th, so I'm in kind of a tight bind. Anything helps at this point.

oh heh yeah I promised myself I would try to get running on Xubuntu, that's gonna be "fun"

negative, being ghosted

really blows when you find out (probably) that someone you used to wanna be good friends with just decided one day that you're not worth acknowledging even more and probably has you muted or blocked or something so you can't even ask why

like...what do you do then? how do you even know what you _did_? "oh I don't have to tell you anything and you're abusing me just by asking" well fuck you if that's how you think

seriously, though, shit like that is just *pathetic*, and explains all too well why the linux desktop never happened. the combination of two dogmatic positions and zero fucks about anyone else

windows has users. linux has victims.

uk pol, eu pol, how to steal an election

this goes way beyond "admin errors", and all the way into electoral fraud. systematically seeking to deny a significant selection of the electorate in the UK their right to vote can't be seen as anything else.

it's also a violation of the human rights of every participant denied a vote, and i hope they all sue.

in sequence.

Hey, folks.

So, I am currently unemployed (again) and in the middle of a second emergency move since the beginning of the year. I'm also broke and still dealing with my violent, stalkery soon-to-be ex husband.

If anyone can help me out with storage and transportation expenses I would be forever grateful.

I saw a deer outside the building at work today. I think that's the first time I ever saw a deer in real life.

write your autistic characters or headcanons as having social knowledge their allistic friends don't. if they're the Autistic-Coded Designated Weirdo in a pack of normies, they're probably into a bunch of weird shit the normies haven't heard of and have a huge headstart on the normies as concerns, oh, I dunno, kink boundary navigation or how to be polyamorous or navigating someone's unfamiliar pronouns/lack thereof

food, cooking (+)

Made my first guacamole! (Shown with sour cream and salsa, for eating with chips.)

Decided to go with the ultimate in simple recipes: look the dish up on Wikipedia and make something that qualifies by their definition. 😛 I didn't have any source of lime juice, but there was an ancient unopened bottle of lemon juice and it still seemed safe for human consumption, so I used that for citrus instead. Otherwise, it's just avocado, salt, and spices.

@Alyx @doe the idea is that it's "service" as in "this is a thing we're doing for you" as opposed to a good that you actually might get to own.

The implication being that they can stop providing the service at any time and then you're fucked out of luck, bucko

I really super appreciate Eugen and all the work he does on/for Mastodon. I also super appreciate those that criticize and challenge the project, especially those that contribute to forks of the code base.

It's messy and not always done ideally, but I appreciate everyone contributing towards a better social media future.

❤️ :heart_nb: :heart_trans: to all!

honestly feeling a lot better about Xubuntu right now haha

every shape is a triangle if you think about it wrong

our "stochastic scheduling" idea needs a hell of work
