Heck it, let's see how many I can answer at all. :P

I don't know why it was saved as a .png where I nicked it from, when the thing has clearly been ravaged by .jpg already.

(I'll transcribe the qeustions as I answer them, for those who can't read the image)

Answer 1

"1. Post some of your favourite art of your fursona."

I don't have all that much of it, but:

1: New commission by @nventous, very cute.
2: Rather personally important drawing I did in April. Features @lizardsquid.
3: Many sketches by @shagoli of which I'll give an honorable mention to the sitting derpy one on the right.
4: I had room to upload one more and blushy bats are always good. :D (also self-drawn)

Answer 2

"2. Is this your first fursona? (if not, what was?)"

Sort of? It was the first one I'd call a fursona and I can't remember any good predecessor. The closest I can thing of was when i was very little I invented a character that was just a talking guinea pig (my favourite animal before bats) and he had everything I thought was cool.

When I was 5 or 6, "cool" apparently meant old cars shooting streamers and misremembered Chain Chomps (smaller, and the chain was gradually got larger)

Answer 3

"3. Why did you decide on your fursona's species?"

I adore bats. They are basically flying cute!

I should note that they're not based on a specific species of bat, but bats in general.

(I can do another right now, but waiting with the answers for a bit so as to not spam up the local timeline.)

Answer 4

"4. What inspired your fursona's design?"

The chevron shapes (pattern and nose) were meant to be the slits in organ pipes (the musical instruments, no body horror) but I later found out those are/tend to be rectangular. (see the attached image)

The ears and bits at the front are just take from various bats, as are the feet. I think the colours happened because I couldn't decide on a dark blue (cold colours taking my preference) or brown. Thus, the wing membranes are now blue. :3

Answer 5

"5. How did you come up with your fursona's name?"

It's been "Pepijn" and I chose that just because I liked it. They don't have a surname, at least yet.

Since a bit ago (when I started realizing I was genderfluid) the name seems more ill-fitting and I tend to refer to them as "the bat" a bit more often, in part also because most people weren't using Pepijn in the first place.

Answer 6

"6. What is your fursona's favourite food?"

I haven't really thought about this but probably seafood. Fish and shrimp mostly. :3

(They will try and eat stuff they don't recognize or just for a joke though, and also sparkles. Somehow those are edible.)

Answer 7

"7. How much of your sona is based on yourself?"

They certainly take on parts of my life and moods, and IIRC the huge wings (and more importantly, not having regular hands) were half a metaphor for autism at one point.

So probably they have some (sub?)conscious connection to my personality.

Answer 8

"8. How long have you had your fursona?"

Earliest sketches I have of them range from 2014-12-8 to 2014-12-10 ending in what I referred to as the first reference for them, but I did mentally mess around with the bat before then (and did sketch them, but I don't think I have any of those anymore. A little more on that for question 9 though.) so they didn't quite form as close to the current design as it looks. Note that the chevron pattern is different in these.

Answer 8, addendum

I think I didn't pay them much attention for a while after these sketches. Also "round head doesn't work" -> currently the head is a poorly defined sphere. :P

Answer 9

"9. How has your fursona changed over time?"

The earliest sketches I can remember were focused around a large fur collar that merged with the ears. I don't know if I had the same sort of yellow in mind back then but it was meant to be lighter than the regular fur.

After that came what you can see in answer 8, followed by one that has a simpler chevron pattern (less but larger). Recently they've been able to switch between male an female, that started around March but took off in April.

Answer 10

"10. What are your three fav things about your sona?"

I can't promise they're necessarily favourites but some good points: (technically this is advertising :P)

-Large wings allow for a large surface area to pet and be petted, and if they wrap you in a hug they can function as an affectionate heated blanket.
-Their ability to summon sparkles, I don't remember when that started by accident. Same for soft surfaces and pillows~
-They're supposed to sing pretty good, despite my skill IRL.

@BatElite that looks like a moldorm!
