@BatElite Not really. You're all alone exploring a mansion on a stormy night, and there are a few things about maybe a ghost, so I can get why somebody might think that. Nothing scary happens, though, and I never felt like it was setting anything scary up either. I think it makes what kind of story it's trying to tell pretty clear a little ways into it

I finally got around to playing Gone Home. It was very nice & very gay. I recommend it if you haven't played it before

I ascended for the first time in any NetHack variant today, including vanilla. It was quite an experience. The variant I ascended in is FIQHack, which I mentioned earlier. When I was younger, I had a very bitter outlook on humanity despite (or maybe because of) having a generally sheltered and poor understanding of it. Now that I'm older and have a much clearer perception of the ills of society, though, I'm trying a lot harder to just be kind to people and be optimistic about the ability of our actions to create a better future

I bought a cursed dress today; it's very easy to put on, and it's very difficult to take off

Today is the last day of pet sitting. I'm going to miss these cats :c

@revenant It's pretty nice. It's got remappable controls, auto-explore, much more effective searching, warnings for doing obviously bad things, easily customized autopickup, a more helpful interface, etc. It also has some rebalancing that makes suddenly facing an unavoidable death much less common, especially in the early game.
