Old book smell is so good.

Further to me waffling about consoles last night I recall that my favourite thing about my spectrum back in the day was the rainbow logo on it. I liked the colours. Oh and the built in tape deck. That was really cool too

Aaaaa yes absolutely this. When I was a kid (I mean, now too, but also when I was a kid) I would have loved to collect one of every kind just to have all the different colours and styles, even though I had little interest in the actual virtual pet mechanic.

@maple well I have a ps2 slim from aaaaages back. got that sucker used, mostly to use as a dvd player, and a console for my PS1 games, aaand for the odd Ps2 game I picked up used (like Klonoa 2 omg)

It sat unused for many years after I moved out though, until I recently got it hooked up to a samsung lcd tv a few years back...

... and immediately regretted it bepcause hhggghg god the visual quality is bloody awful
