Heck that's the precise reason I love re4 so much. I mean I still love the original three games but re4 is just great both despite, and BECAUSE of its flaws and weird direction

The game starts off with Leon being a bit of a bore, but it surprisingly quickly gets VERY silly in a 90s action movie way. It's a great game. It's not a great resident evil game because it diverges SO MUCH from the mood and tone of the first three games, but it's still a really fun game, even more so because of Leon delivering cheesy one liners in cutscenes
