and also C)
one of the main characters is a cute as a button robot-bunny eared gal with glowing eyes who is implied to be a sentient and very alive glitch in reality who BLUE REVOLVER are investigating (by means of shooting bullets everywhere in her direction... which of course she replies in kind)
fuck i just got thinking about BLUE REVOLVER again and A) its amazing soundtrakc, and B) just how goddamn cool the idea of the world setting is (Magic works like programming code, except it's literlaly rewriting the "code" for reality, and can create "junk data" or glitches in reality if this "code" isn't well formed enough which can build up and create anomalies, and the group BLUE REVOLVER is exceptionally well known as v. capable Engineers who go around fixing these glitches)...
@Rosemary Ooo, it wasn't specific about it but it looks like it sort of comes from the verb usage, such as "to plaster"? because you stick it on something? and also the original latin root means "bandage" in the medical sense. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/emplastrum#Latin
That was a really good idea and pretty enlightening! Thank you ^^
@Rosemary Ooh! good idea, thank you ^^
birdsite
@slimekat the robot is cute.
its purpose and means for existing and the reason for its funding is not D:
I hate that this is a thing. why can't robots be nice and cute and just... that. rather than be funded for killing people or blowing shit up... i want a refund on this reality
@Rosemary I guess so, wikipedia has failed me in this case but I guess the etymology of the term isn't super important to them. ;w;
@Rosemary yepyep! We don't have the brand Band-Aid here in the UK, so the generic name for them is "Fabric plasters" or "plasters" in general, especially for non woven fabric based ones. Not entirely sure why they're called "plasters" honestly given there's no plaster in them.
Last year you all helped me raise $2000 for immigrant families in Springfield!! Please come out again like you did before and help these families afford housing! It's fucked up that we live in a system where even with a job, you can work paycheck-to-paycheck and still not have housing.
These families need your help so we can get them homes and then work to build a world where this stuff never happens!!
Hey! We need your help to get housing for four working-class families in Philadelphia who got caught in a rental scam! As someone who has been housing stable, my heart goes out to them. I donated, could you please donate too? Please boost this everywhere! 1 of them is a pregnant single mother of three who was housing unstable for two years, thought she'd finally found housing, only to get scammed! Please contribute what you can and share this around. It would mean a lot to me!!
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
