From the opening of @DrAndrewThaler's new paper (https://peerj.com/articles/7397), I learned that the scientists who sent a submersible down to see hydrothermal vents for the first time were so unprepared to find life there, they took samples back preserved in vodka!

@evie oh damn I .. I think I might have to get one
@evie yoooo??? I was thinking "holy crap there needs to be some kinda case thing to attach joycons to and have the screen vertical for the switch for Downwell but I doubt they'll make it as it's too niche", and then THIS EXISTS?!?
@SuperCee@plush.city Yeah I think I tried 1 on the SNES port and it just... wans't that great feeling. I haven't played 2?? But susprisingly 1 and 2 were definitely well received, though 3 was basically sort of a reboot of the series?? It changed the tone a lot to make it a LOT more serious. 1 and 2 are... kinda goofy, especially with the character designs and names

@SuperCee@plush.city only samsho game I ever played was 3 which I found... somehow... on a real disc, but not the original case, in a pawn shop of some kind I guess, on PS1. It ruled. My favourite character was Shizumaru? Apparently it turns out that 3 was like, super divisive amongst fans, and also got nicknamed as "Samurai Slowdown" on the PS1 version because of severe framerate drops present in that port.
@soft you can take my bare feet from my cold dead pawbs.
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
