uspol, qanon, liberal narratives
@vortex_egg I'd go further and posit that at least for some of the people spouting that bs narrative is so they can blame their own fuckups on "the poors" and thus not have to confront the reality of their own bigotry or actually put any work into making the world better because god forbid they have to put themselves out in any way for others
re: fake rivalryness X3
@codepuppy @monorail oh that last one I can definitely answer.
It's because there's a spanner emote, but no pliers emoji.
@monorail oh dang language got me beat D:
@BatElite @maples Now In 3d*! (requires special glasses which you will have invariably lost like the moment you left the theatre and will have to purchase again at a low low price of like half the ticket price itself and we know you will try and keep them this time but you'll forget to bring them and have to buy a new set and then try and save that and find the two old sets and now you have THREE sets you'll forget to bring)

re: Yeah me too
@mawr @IceWolf @noiob GOD. SAME.
AGH.
like "jeez you say you love tabletop rping but you never read any of the books" and like
GOD
I WISH I FUCKING COULD READ THE DAMN BOOKS
"you've got them right the-"
IRRELEVANT. LITERALLY, PHYSICALLY CANNOT READ THEM. like god you think i'm not reading them because I 'can't be bothered'? No, my brain physically rejects the possibility I could even open the fucking things. EVEN THE BOOK I HELPED WRITE.
re: Yeah me too
@IceWolf @mawr @noiob just getting to that starting point though is super, super, SUPER hard in the first place though huh? Like, I have books I absolutely adore... I have read Watership Down like, eight times my entire life. Four of those times were before I was even 13. Miq bought me a copy of it, as a physical book, with a beautiful custom made cover for one of my birthdays a few years back. It's one of my most treasured possessions. I've read it precisely once. since :<
A reminder of just how many trackers Disqus pushes onto everyone - an otherwise empty page with their code made 76 HTTP requests, including 11 third-party trackers, taking seven seconds to load, using 2MB.
and Only now do I realise that they've been doing this deliberately and preying on that particular bit of my brain and my ADHD, holy fuck.
fuck i literally stopped sleeping some nights because of my ability to just chew through books (also a little literally, I uh... I used to without even thinking about it, tear bits off the edges of pages and eat them for some reason ._.; a lot of my books from when I was younger are uh... monch'd somewhat...).
also the bit where Jim talks about predatory microtransactions HOLY FUCK I am furious at game devs now for those. I have LEGIT been tricked by them with those, repeatedly in the past.
yeah i'm moving over to chitter.xyz now. Soooo go there! I'm there now.
