i've been going thru all my scenes replacing the original meshes with new ones made with probuilder and it's going a lot faster than i expected

the dualshock is my favourite controller design but then again i liked the n64 controller so i clearly don't know shit

i should really put stickers on my ps2 controller indicating what button maps to what 360 controller button cos pc games always assume that's what im using and it gets real confusing trying to figure out which button is which

i got it working but im too out of it to explain how,

seems to be a unity-wide thing so maybe once my thoughts are clearer i'll write up a guide to making this work
