Re-wrote this post because I accidentally implied that minority game devs are the scum of the earth. Oops! Remember to use commas, kids
There are two kinds of gaming controversy post-gamergate: One where a dev does something fairly innocuous before getting stalked and harassed for the next 5 years, and one where a dev does something actually horrendous before getting a pat on the back and a kiss on the cheek. Meanwhile, somebody somewhere makes a very long post about "cancel culture"
What was even the controversy with Ooblets again? The devs don't like toxicity, and they're releasing the game on a platform that people don't like because they... y'know... needed money?
It's so baffling at this point.

This experience gets more hilarious the less your identity is in the public eye. Introduce yourself as a lesbian? Most people nowadays will nod along. A nonbinary lesbian? Depending on who it is they might have a few questions.
If I come out of the gate with "plural genderqueer non-op pansexual-lesbian furry witch," I get the IMMENSE pleasure of hearing the dial-up noise playing on loop as the rando goes on a brain spelunking trip to figure out what the fuck I just said
