They've now decided Earth is a donut. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.
I bet he wasn't wearing a mask, either.
In our history textbooks, we learned that European settlers pushed westward, displacing Indigenous tribes until sadly they were no more. But this is wholly inaccurate.
The โIndiansโโas Columbus infamously misnamed themโare still here in America. They number well over five million according to the 2020 census. And yet, as hard as it is to admit, a genocide of Indigenous people and cultures continues in this country even to this day, as Native children are removed from their families and tribes to live in primarily White, Christian homes.
That continuing assault is todayโs subject in The Big Picture. Head over to #TBP to read now: https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/indigenous-genocide-foster-care-icwa
They take care of us when they're deployed, we need to take care of them when they come home.
I think the UN got it right.
Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 30: Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.

And, see, if that had happened on Voyager, they'd have just sent an anti-chronoton pulse through the deflector array, and that would have solved everything.

The Time Tunnel team at headquarters didn't have a lot to do this episode, except for one rather melodramatic scene. They tried to send some weapons, and accidentally sent one of their guards back. On retrieving him, they accidentally aged him! ๐ฎ To fix him, they had to (say it with me) REVERSE THE POLARITY! ๐ ๐

Today in Labor History March 9, 1902: Actor Will Geer was born. Best known for his role as Grandpa Walton in the long-running series, โThe Waltons,โ Geer also appeared in the groundbreaking film, โSalt of the Earth,โ which portrayed the struggle of Mexican American workers at the Empire Zinc Mine. Because of his activism on labor and political issues, he was blacklisted in Hollywood for many years. In 1934, he became a member of the Communist Party. He also met LGBTQ activist Harry Hay that year and they became lovers. Together, they supported the 1934 San Francisco General Strike and demonstrated against fascism and for workersโ rights.

Very common misunderstanding. He was talking about the tax break he'd get for burying someone at his golf course. This is the beautiful picture he was referring to:
I usually go the other way - trying to wipe dust off my monitor that turns out to be errant punctuation. like an extra apostrophe.

I like this one better. The first one showed a little camera shake. What do you think?
