In a contract review meeting with a new-but-well-known company wanting to buy something from the company I work for:
Me: This section on data deliverables is vague. It says you want data delivered with each item, but it doesn't define what data you want.
Them: Oh, you know, just what you'd normally put in.
Me: Contracts are usually pretty detailed about this. Are there any specific requirements?
Them: Um, not really. Just whatever would normally be delivered.

In every dream I've had of flying, it's always felt like a muscle I had to tighten in my brain that allowed me to fly. I'd just lift up and soar, and I was never afraid, even though IRL I'm terrified of heights.
I can neither confirm nor deny that I've tried to do the same thing while I was awake.
I'm somewhat jealous (but not too much, because I never had to worry about income.) I work in what was defined as a "critical industry", so we never closed.
I did get two 14-day "work from remote" stints, before the vaccine and tests were available.
I just realized that today is the third anniversary of our first day in βquarantineβ when my husband and I mostly just put on dumb outfits and got as weird as possible to kill time.
We lived in a tiny condo and our only outdoor space was our parking space, so weβd go have picnics in our parking space or use it to pretend like we were on vacation in Vegas to terrify our friends by making them think we were being super reckless.
We also bought a selfie stick to pretend like we were on vacation in our tiny apartment which is pretty much the only way Iβd ever justify using a selfie stick.

Look at this northern cardinal. Despite being in the center of a thick tight tangle of branches it moves with relative ease. Any acrobat would be envious. The bird is making its way to one of my bird feeders. In this photo, I'm not sure whether he's flying to his next perch or simply jumping. I suppose it's probably a combination of both, because he will need to right himself from the dive. Don't you think so?

My friend the brilliant author Rachel Pollack is coming to the end of her life. She won the Nebula, World Fantasy and Arthur C Clarke awards. She is a world renowned expert on Tarot, and her books on Tarot are still regarded as the good standard. She created the first trans superhero, in Doom Patrol in '93. I will miss her very much when she goes. I am writing this at the request of her wife Zoe, to let her friends know that the end is soon, and to let the obituarists know too.
Approaching old-farthood, and I'm more radically liberal than I've ever been.
Deadly allergic to bees, since I was a toddler (first trip to the ER - hooray?) and I carry an epi-pen at all times.
But as an adult I've learned that they don't want to die any more than I do, and they're happy to let me do my thing, as long as I let them do their thing. Interesting to watch, and I keep flowering plants and a fountain in the backyard, so I can watch them more.
Bees are volunteers
