The push for massive battery capacity is also to blame, when it really isn't necessary. I did a lot of my own, personal hand-wringing, and had almost talked myself into a plug-in hybrid, instead. Then I sat down and actually did the math. Any car with a range of 220 miles per charge will let me get back and forth to work for a week, and keep within the 80%-40% range recommended for battery health. I don't need any more than that.
I reminded her that *all* cars are getting bigger and heavier. So many people drive an SUV or a full-size truck, both of which just keep getting bigger and heavier every year. If people are concerned about cars being to heavy and dangerous, then let's make some regulations about *all cars* instead of just hand wringing about them new fangled EVs.

I prefer in-ear, because they're better at blocking noise, but I'm one of those people "gifted" with a lot of ear wax, so they can be a problem, and I have to clean the silicone tips every time I use them.
I heard from a few people on the spectrum that they hate everything in-ear, so now I wanna know from you, #ActuallyAutistic community, do you like or dislike in-ear headphones / ear plugs? Why?

Haven't watched it, but might since you brought it up. I'll have to wait for a time I think I have the energy.

re: complaining (in caps) about this fucking weather
And here I am, in SoCal, rejoicing in the 2nd sunny day of June, so far. It still won't break 70F, though.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) uncovered a Kyiv-based IT company that attempted to illegally transfer confidential information from the electronic systems of the frontline OVA to representatives of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) terrorist organization. The investigation revealed that the company had granted access to the databases to its colleagues from the temporarily occupied part of the region, who were posing as employees of the company's Donetsk branch. If successful, the offenders would have been able to regularly leak information from the OVA. The perpetrators of this crime face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
π³οΈβππ³οΈββ§οΈ No amount of rainbow flags around for #PrideMonth is enough to win the fight for #transrights.
Anti-trans bills across the country have the ability to negatively affect nearly every facet of trans and nonbinary peopleβs lives, from free speech to health care access to protections against discrimination, to name a few.
And now I'm craving both! My motto of the momo is Don't limit yourself
But I feel exactly the same way about the ads observation. Seems I can just think of or imagine a thing and it's suddenly all over my online activity? Scary!
Now, every time he goes outside to use the potty (we have a doggy door and fenced-in yard), he races inside to the love seat nearest the kitchen for his treat. It's adorable to watch. Smiling and wagging that bushy tail.

They can change it, embiggen it, and make it perfectly cromulent, as long as they use an Oxford comma. That's where I draw the line.
@ratcatcher @kacey @actuallyautistic thanks. now, let's celebrate that languages are organic and living evolving things, shaped daily into new forms by all it's users, native and non native speakers alike..

Only slightly related, but did you know that in 1987 a group of orcas started wearing dead salmon on their heads?
U.S. Same-Sex Marriage Support Holds at 71% High - Sometimes it still astounds me how far weβve come in terms of marriage equality. The reality today vs my first wedding in 2005, which involved getting married in a foreign country because of NY law at the time, and today feels like a dream. https://news.gallup.com/poll/506636/sex-marriage-support-holds-high.aspx

Did I ever mention how, when I was 18 and in the Army, I applied to the Space Shuttle program on a dare because I knew I didn't qualify and my sergeant major "made some phone calls" and got me a waiver?

Oh, man! Now thinking I should have gone with pie rather than the massive amount of my Achilles heel -- potato salad.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing.
