I have a difficult task to do, and it's going to take a couple of weeks - but obviously I can't work on it contunously. But my brain would *like* me to be working on it continuously, because until the task is done I have a nagging warning light in my periphery whenever I try to pay attention to anything else.

How do you let yourself relax or take a break even though there is something unfinished or stressful in the background? (because let's be real there is ALWAYS something unfinished or stressful in the background, and I feel like my brain NEVER lets me have a break because there's always something else I should be paying attention to.)

so in that SCOTUS case about the web designer that didn't want to make a website for a gay wedding, it came out that the person that was supposedly requesting the website (a guy named with identifying details) was contacted by the press and he said he never even asked anyone for a website, and he's already married to some lady anyhow.

like it's incredibly weird. I don't know how the details are gonna shake out but I guess we can just make up shit whole cloth now to tailor our impact litigation?

I’m tired. Rights are being stolen. The planet is burning. Far right nationalism is on the rise. I don’t feel safe.

I’m having a hard time finding a bright spot to aim for. Idk what to do to help or changes things. Hell, idk what I CAN do. But I want to do something, anything, to make a difference.

@simplemycelium @joshsusser @actuallyautistic I definitely relate to this. I also have a system, and also have trouble following it when stressed and anxious. My strategy is to address the stress by doing something physically taxing.

Lately I’ve gotten really into running, especially on trails with lots of greenery. I may not have gotten into it if I hadn’t found voice-guided runs. Takes care of all the planning part, which is very taxing for me.
