@AlisonW @ScottSoCal @allenstenhaus @hellomiakoda @Autistrain @asbestos @hosford42 @sal @actuallyautistic @neurodiversity @Tooden @pathfinder @markusl @johnettesnuggs @sentient_water @Adventurer I've got a bunch of weird friends, most of them ND, and I'm the butler of His Furry Highness the Prince. My cat already had the name Prince when I adopted him, and it fits, he's a spoiled aristocat.
You have no idea what the future holds for you. The only way to find out is to be there when it happens.
My wife had a 4X6 pride flag on her bulletin board at a bio testing lab. She's a director there, and it's important to her that the gay people who work under her know they are welcome.
Someone from her team, who is very nice to their gay co-worker's face, filed a very general complaint about it.
Naturally, I assumed the person was upset the pride flag was too small. So I made my wife a 12X8 stained glass flag to put in its place.
Yup:
"WASHINGTON -- FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) this fall.
The national test will consist of two portions, testing WEA and EAS capabilities. Both tests are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4."
PSA copypasted from tumblr, pls boost :
FEMA is doing an emergency alert test on all TVs, radios, and cell phones on October 4, 2023, at approximately 2:20pm ET.
If you live in the US and you have a phone you need to keep secret for any reason, make sure that it is turned off at this time.
Yes, I'm doing this months in advance, and yes, my blog has very little reach, but I figure better to post about it more than less.
Please reblog and add better tags than mine, I'm bad at tags.
I'm at the opposite end of that spectrum. 4 siblings still living, with all their spouses and children, both parents (last I heard), and too many cousins, their spouses and children and all the childrens' children, and some of their children. Fortunately, they're all 2 states away. I'm gay, married, with one adopted daughter (and her children).
One of the many things I don't miss about my bio-family is their macabre version of funerals.
"Oh, hey, you kids, circle up around the casket, we're gonna get one last shot of you with gramma."

I have a RBF from Hell and have had since childhood. I usually scowl more and stick my tongue out.
Mastodon made me autistic.
I got on here, started following the people who wrote things that spoke to me, that I understood, that resonated and - oh, gee, most of them are autistic? What's that about?

I try to assume good intention when I read posts. If it isn't clear, I'll either explain what I meant or ask for clarification. But when it's obviously just an attack post, for the sake of attacking someone who has done nothing to deserve it, I have a vast, untapped reservoir of repressed anger I can dive into, and I'm OK with releasing a bit of it in their direction.

What Aaron said. We're generally presentable people, and we don't bite unless you ask, nicely.
