You'd hate my house, where I encourage Little Man to speak up.
We've always had trouble getting him to eat, but if he's excited for it he eats better. We play hunting/stalking games all through me getting his food ready, and by the time I'm done, he's ready to eat.

Memorizing that grid of numbers didn't work for me, so I worked out other methods.
x9, for example, I count down from 9x9=81. 9x6=
81, 72, 63, 54 - ah, yes, 54.

It takes a very special type of dumbass, who’s exceedingly short of being a millionaire, to send β€œdonations” to a self-proclaimed billionaire at the request of that β€œbillionaire.”

There are reasons he loves the poorly educated - and why the GQP wants to make more of them.

Apparently my former instanace, pettingzoo.co, suddenly went kaput. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I am on a new instance and I am trying to re-connect with my Mastodon tribe. 🦣

If we were fellow followers, and you see this Toot in Local, or Federated feeds, please re-follow me. πŸ«‚

Also if you could Boost this Toot, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! πŸš€

Good morning. πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

Yesterday the sky was dark, and I was sure it would rain, but other than a few isolated drops, nada. Today, I hope will be different, my lawn could use some rain. I haven't been keeping up with watering this year. Interestingly, in Louisiana, you can find ground water about a foot below the surface.

My personality used to include a taste of OCD. When I say "used to" I mean relatively recent past, not my long-ago younger days. When something needed to get done, I would obsess until it happened. But now-a-days, in retirement, I'm as mellow as a pillow.

It's weird how our personalities change over the years. We're more like machines than we'd like to believe. A slight chemical imbalance changes the ballgame.

Call me a radical Lefty, but I don’t think an entry-level federal employee should be subject to more stringent ethics rules than Clarence Thomas.

My household recently switched from a 2 hybrid family to a 1 hybrid, 1 EV family. Solar panels charge the EV, the hybrid we kept averages 45.8 mpg.
Next summer, when the new EV is paid off, we're switching to a 2 EV family, and I'll be able to stop gas use completely. That will be a good day.

Stolpersteine (Tripping Sotones)

These are memorials in front of houses where Jews, and others, were taken from their homes during the Holocaust.

There are many, many, MANY of these throughout Germany.

Here in Germany, we are reminded every day where the Road of Hatred leads.

And you're required to learn about it in school.
While in the US they're trying to make it illegal to teach about our past in school.

My clothes are always clean, and always pressed, and the colors coordinate, because I know those things are an expectation, but I don't notice (or care about) what I'm wearing beyond that. I have a system that rotates my wardrobe. I pull clothes out from the left, and load them in on laundry day from the right. Everything rotates through in circulation.

I'm handling this almost 100% the way I handled dealing with internalized homophobia. So many false assumptions and stereotypes I had to weed out before I could be a (somewhat, on my good days) functional, unashamed adult.

@Zumbador

I think for me it's that autism *can* be disabling, but autism isn't automatically and necessarily disabling.

And in typing that and re-reading it, maybe I'm trying to subdivide into groups or categories of autism. Or maybe not. I'll have to think about it more.

@Susan60 @actuallyautistic

@Susan60 @actuallyautistic Susan that makes a lot of sense to me. So instead of *autism* being the disorder, it's whatever - um - co morbidities, maybe? an autistic person might have that are the disability?

@Zumbador

If you're on (or start) any prescription medication, you *have* to discuss supplements with your doctor. So many of them can interact with prescription meds.

A load in the washing machine takes 50 minutes, a load in the dryer takes 70 minutes. I just start the timer on my watch, and when it goes off I go up and start the next load.
If I forget the set the timer, all bets are off - the laundry will never get done.
