I've always been one of those people who tests well. Put a test in front of me, and I can pass it. Put a series of assignments in front of me...
Ooh! Look! A squirrel!

My dentist uses more topical anesthetic on me than on most of her patients (according to her), but I've found my experience varies, depending on whether I'm focusing on what's happening in my mouth, or if I've gone somewhere else in my head. If I'm somewhere else, I don't feel anything. If I'm focusing on what's happening in my mouth, I can feel all of it.
I make it a rule to go somewhere else.

I've been working my way through the podcast Ologies (which is AWESOME) and I finally got myself to listen to the space junk episode (which I had been avoiding because, well, I'm extremely aware of that and I figured it would be stressful).

Turns out that the host actually quoted from an article I wrote back in 2020 in the episode! How totally cool!! theconversation.com/spacexs-st

This GOP Rep wouldn't condemn #Trump's call for #GenMilley to be executed.
Then CNN's Abby Phillips let him prattle on, give a mealymouthed response & both sides the #AtochasticTerrorism. This is pathetic & part of the reason why the #DeathThreats & #WitnessIntimidation continue.

Bottom Line: Republicans are encouraging threats of violence. When the media doesn't press them on this support of political violence, they are complicit.

Biden sounded an alarm yesterday. He declared an emergency. No American president has ever given a speech like this.

Everyone needs to hear it, but especially the editors running the major news organizations. sfba.social/@cynblogger/111145

As we face yet another Govt shutdown I reflect on these absurdities. In the United States:
β€’1 Senator can block all military confirmationsβ€”but it takes 60 Senators to overrule him
β€’1 Speaker can shut down the entire governmentβ€”but it takes 218 House Reps to overrule him
β€’1 bought SCOTUS Justice can strip away rights for hundreds of millions of peopleβ€”and it's virtually impossible to remove him

This is not a functioning democracy. It is GOP exploitation. Vote GOP Out. Reform our government.

My favorites were The Doctor and Seven. Both were trying to figure out how to human, in real time.

The Republicans in the US have been saying grandma and grandpa should be happy to die for the economy.

President Biden made history by standing with autoworkers on the picket line. Trump held an invite-only rally at a nonunion plant outside Detroit. The choice couldn't be clearer which party truly supports workers. Can Biden get voters to listen? thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p
