Fortunately, the GOP members are the minority in the Senate. They can propose anything they want, that doesn't mean they'll get it.
I took this photo exactly 20 months ago, on the day russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Despite all pessimistic intel estimates, Ukraine has been fighting for its freedom for 608 days now. Please continue to #StandWithUkraine for as long as it takes for our victory!

I'd need mine to have a third side, that says "Don't you have somewhere else you can be?"
@ScottSoCal That's a tough point. We've done it numerous times, and have 2 more that are getting up to that point.
Give them the best life you can, and they'll know it. It's all we can do. And we're still not worthy of dogs...
That point in your dog's life when you know the end is coming up sooner than you like, and you want to cherish every moment, so you let him steal your chair for a nap and you just sit somewhere else.
This happened to me, too, playing pool, although it was during my drinking days and I am not a reliable witness. I have experienced similar when writing, in more recent years, and, as someone else posted, I call it "flow".
Just got wondering today - have any of you had hyperfocus kick in when it was something you were doing, not something you're watching/reading/studying?
I used to play pool, at an average amateur level, and two games have always stuck in my memory. I *was* the game. I made shots I never could before. Everything was the pool table, and the cue in my hands. Both times it just happened, and I tried to to it on purpose, but that never worked. Just those two games. Autism? Or not?
There are tens of thousands of #ActuallyAutistic humans living in fear right now in both Gaza and Israel.
Different types of fear, to be sure, but fear nonetheless.
As an autistic advocate and activist I teach people, daily, that triggers that dysregulate us may look "small" to an outsider, but that to us it's a much bigger deal.
It saddens me how much of the discourse around Israel-Palestine has totally rejected that there are autistic people actually living out this nightmare.
It hurts me to see so many people absolutely reject the humanity of the other side based on nothing but one's own preference or virtue signaling.
Our autistic comrades are living in a state of extreme dysregulation at the moment in that part of the world. All of whom wish that they can find a moment of peace.
Let's not forget that and let's not silence the voices of our autistic comrades who are Palestinian and Israeli. The ACTUAL events are traumatic enough for anyone, let alone an autistic person. More pain and dysregulation need not be added by people who use their lives as an activity to talk about.

@ScottSoCal @Adirondack and David Gregory saying Democrats practice identity politics for not helping his poor team mates tie their shoe laces!π₯΄
@Adirondack@toad.social
Yeah. One of the first headlines I saw after KKKevin got booted was "8 Republicans join Democrats in ousting McCarthy".
No, sunshine, that's not what happened. Rs made the rule, Rs made the motion, Rs cast the votes. Get your story straight.
Columbus, Ohio is wiping out $335 million of medical debt accrued by more than 340K moderate-income residents by using money from the American Rescue Plan.
Thanks, Joe!
Now watch, as the Ohio GQP files a lawsuit to stop it from happening.
"We can't let the peons escape their debt burden!"
If I see people out of context (a co-worker at a grocery store) it's jarring, and I freeze up for a second. I'm supposed to know them, but this isn't right...

And it comes back as fertilizer! Very clever.
