We are the luckiest family on earth.
On Sunday, we get the keys to our new townhouse in #Canada, finally.
So we walk over there today for fun, & our neighbor Jerry, who must be over 70, is cutting down our overgrown bushes for us, because we told him we wanted to pull some of them to give Hammy more space. He wanted to get the ball rolling.
On his own. Because he's amazing.
& he's going to keep doing it until we actually move in.
We were floored.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar comments on the horrifying shooting of Sonya Massey in her home in Springfield, Illinois, after she called the police thinking an intruder was on her property. Policeman Sean P. Grayson then shot Massey. Abdul-Jabbar writes,

JD Vance says parents should vote on behalf of their underage children to reflect their stake in the future.
By the same logic, adult votes should be weighted with life expectancy. A 20-year-old has a greater stake in the future than an 80-year-old.
This would wipe out Trump.
Their response is very different if you call someone a MAGAt.
If I bounced a check today, my bank would cover it without a problem - they've sent me letters telling me so, but I never need them to.
When I was desperately poor and the bank didn't credit my deposit for two days - without telling me they were going to delay it - and they bounced the check I wrote for groceries, I had to cough up a couple hundred dollars in an escalating series of NSF fees and check returns.
Being poor is VERY expensive.
