14th Amendment, Section 3 bars anyone from holding office who βengaged in insurrection" against the U.S.
This isn't some obscure provision. A New Mexico judge used it against an insurrectionist county commissioner.
Why shouldn't it also apply to Trump?
Y'all are chasing working artists away from this place by harping on how "sad" and "pathetic" it is for them to hope for a large follower count here.
It's not about attention. It's about their bottom line. More followers means more commissions, more customers in their online shops, more direct exposure to people with hiring power. It's honestly really cruel to keep acting like they want adulation when really they just want to pay rent.
They have ample reason to mourn what they built.
@quirk We went all out with home automation, which was great (and still is, almost always) but then the internet went down for several hours, and we found out nothing in the house works without internet. No lights, no TV, no music. We could entertain ourselves by watching the microwave rotate food.

@CatsOfYore OK, you've ruined a perfectly good shame spiral. Now what will I do with my afternoon?

@ozwobbly It only means he succeeded if we (generic "we") continue to engage in the birdsite. As more people leave, media's incentive to remain dwindles. Eventually even they will figure out they're speaking to an empty conference room.
@callmejake I saw a true meme:
Mormon missionaries are the Catholic school girls of gay porn. That horrifies me more than a little, as a recovering Mormon who married a guy who was a missionary (and is also a recovering Mormon.)
@rbreich While we're helping Ukraine defeat invading Russian military, I'm not going to get too worked up about the military budget. Particularly not when it's overshadowed by the $10T tax cut the GQP gave to the wealthiest 1% of the country, while their wealth is growing exponentially.
Taxes are going up on the poor and middle class, while they dropped into the basement for the oligarchs.
@ScottSoCal @georgetakei Would hate to be the new CEO who has to try to actually make the company work while Musk is constantly forcing them to do every ridiculous thing that pops into his mind.
@Stonekettle On the plus side, the NFT will be a better CEO than Elmo has been.
This is your year non-trans folks. This is the year
to be the one to call out grandma for misgendering your non-binary cousin,
to call out how fucked up your uncles transphobic jokes are, or
to tell your mom that her excuses for deadnaming someone arenβt good enough.
Itβs time to make this your problem. How are you going to stand up for trans people this holiday?

The first part, that you apparently missed? The part that said "chances are"? That's saying it's statistically probable, based on Idaho demographics, that her past behavior was consistent with the majority - in Idaho's case, the overwhelming majority. I did not say "I know for a fact".
"The right to vote is exactly that: a right. Not a reward that must be earned, not a privilege that can be revoked. In a nation founded on the promise of representative democracy, voting is one of the most sacred & fundamental rights we have" - @johnlegend@twitter.com

So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
